WINGS FALL SHORT IN OT

Arlington, TX– In an overtime battle the Wings fell to the Liberty 102-93. With eight seconds left, Skylar Diggins-Smith was taken to the line after a foul called on New York’s Shavonte Zellous to put the Wings up 88-86. The Liberty answered back when Zellous hit the jump shot with 0.6 seconds left in the game to tie it up and take it into overtime.

In overtime, the Liberty went on a 6-0 run to go up 97-91 and leave the Wings at bay, until Kayla Thornton hit a floating jump shot to give the Wings 93 points.

Five Wings players hit double figures for the night, with Diggins-Smith leading the way at 23 points. Allisha Gray ended with 16, while Kaela Davis and Glory Johnson recorded 11. Kayla Thornton scored 10. Johnson also recorded her fifth double-double of the season with the 11 points and 11 rebounds.
