FRISCO, Texas – As of January 1st teams in the NFL were allowed to start signing free agents and the Dallas Cowboys wasted no time in signing Defensive Back Marqueston Huff. Huff, also known by his nickname “Quest” played college football at Wyoming and was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 4th round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Since 2014 he has made his way to several teams around the league after being released from the Titans as part of final roster cuts in 2016.
Tennessee Titans (2014-2015)
Jacksonville Jaguars (2016)
Baltimore Ravens (2016)
Kansas City Chiefs (2017)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2017)
Huff has been signed to several practice squads and has been waived multiple times but he will have another chance to prove his ability as a safety on the field for “America’s Team.” On January 10th, 2018 Huff signed a reserve/future contract with the Cowboys after working out with the team at the end of the regular season. The Cowboys need an impact versatile player and Huff has been known to be one playing Cornerback and Safety for many teams in the league. Byron Jones has had issues this past year, and the Cowboys need better depth at the Defensive Back position as Jeff Heath and Kavon Frazier look to move to larger roles in the Cowboys defense. If his off-season performance goes well, we will see Huff wearing the iconic star and silver and blue.
