Lillard Gets Hot, Leads Trail Blazers To Win Over Mavericks

DALLAS, TEXAS – The Portland Trail Blazers looked to defeat the Mavericks for the second time in less than a week, and they did, beating Dallas 107-93 in the American Airlines Center tonight. Portland started the game off slow as they were down 25-17 at the end of the first quarter. C.J. McCollum had more than half of the Blazers point with 11 in the first period.

The Mavericks defended him better the rest of the game, as he only had 7 more points the next 3 quarters, finishing with 18. McCollum also had 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Dallas did a good job of containing recently selected NBA All-Star Damian Lillard to start the game, but Lillard got things going in the second half as he finished the game with 29 points to lead all scorers. He also had 3 rebounds and 3 assists. This is the third time Lillard has been named to the Western Conference All-Star team.

This season Lillard is averaging 25.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.0 steals. Portland now has a few days off before they face off against the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday night.
