FRISCO, TEXAS — Caliber Collision presented the 14th annual Taste of the Cowboys Tailgate Event at the Star in Frisco. The Dallas Cowboys and the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) will hosted the event on Sunday at the Tostitos Championship Plaza.
North Texas Food Bank is a non-profit hunger-relief organization located in Southwest Dallas. NTFB provides access to more than 190,000 meals per day to those in need.
Taste of the Cowboys will featured past and present Cowboy players including: The Dallas Cowboys offensive-line led by Center Travis Frederick, alumni Defensive Tackle Chad Hennings and Running Back Preston Pearson. Guests had the opportunity to enjoy tailgate stations from 30 North Texas restaurants and chefs, as well as live entertainment. Live and silent auctions will be held for attendees to bid on items during the event. All proceeds will go toward NTFB’s child programs, which help provide one in four children with food access in North Texas to stop childhood hunger.
Travis Frederick was nominated for the 2017 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his work in fighting against childhood hunger. He is known as the dominant center for the Dallas Cowboys, but also for his character and leadership off the football field. Frederick addressed his nomination at the event stating, “ It was such a great honor to be a nominee. You think about the history of that award and the people who have been nominated and have received the award. It really makes you reflect and look back on the things you have done and the things you can do more of.”
He left with a beautiful reminder of self-examination and reflection to the future “There is always more that can be done. The more you do, you get closer” to the goal of tackling hunger. Every person can make a difference and it starts with you!
