Cowboys Attend Football Convention

FRISCO, Texas – Cowboys’ veteran defensive end Tyrone Crawford hosted the annual Windsor Finest Football Academy in his Canadian hometown of Windsor, Ontario. His teammates DeMarcus Lawrence, Maliek Collins, Tyron Smith, and Kyle Wilber joined him on the football field teaching young athletes about the gridiron game they love.

The Football Academy’s goal is to “ Impact athletes around the Windsor community and implement strong messages about on-field success and off-field issues like Bullying.” The two-day camp will implement speed fundamentals and drills; one-on-one coaching from mentors currently playing at the highest level in the NFL, and assemblies off the field by camp mentors discussing Bullying through stories and experience.

Crawford, as well as every other NFL player, was once in these young athletes shoes, dealing with the same issues and insecurities that all children face. Now he is using his platform as a Dallas Cowboy to teach youth in his hometown of Windsor about the importance of character, and integrating it on and off the field.

National Fantasy Football Convention (NFFC), a large youth football camp, was held in Mexico to expand the game of football to that region. Dallas Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott as the headliner, along with teammates Taco Charlton, Kavon Frazier, Anthony Brown, and Jaylon Smith were in attendance.

The NFFC partnered with Estrellas del Futuro and the Mexican government to begin the camp in Queretaro, Mexico this year and there are plans for several more camps as apart of a three-year agreement to bring football “South of the border,” CEO Andy Alberth noted. The men in the silver and blue led the first day of camp: Elliott, Charlton, Frazier, Brown, and Smith.

Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott posted about his experience on social media, “Thanks to Queretaro for welcoming me with open arms. It was truly special for me to share my love for football with you all.”

Elliott has had a tough year with the 6-game suspension being drawn out through hearings in and out of court during the course of the season. He has put the past behind him, and his love for the game of football and his teammates drives him forward.
