FRISCO, TEXAS – Dallas Cowboys’ beloved veteran tight end Jason Witten’s retirement is pending after 14 seasons with “America’s Team,” to become an analyst for ESPN. He is an eleven-time pro bowler during his tenure with the Cowboys. In 229 game starts he amassed 1,152 receiving yards, 12,448 total yards, 68 touchdowns, and a 72.4 catching percentage.
More than his performances on the field, he is known for his character, heart, and determination. Witten will be remembered as one of the most dedicated and hard-working Cowboys in history.
In discussing Witten, head coach Jason Garrett once remarked, “ If you want to know what to do, look at Jason Witten and do what he does.” Witten was an instant impact guy on the field and on the sidelines for Cowboys’ offensive line.
At a press conference at the Star in Frisco this morning, Owner and General Manager Jerry Jones, addressed Witten’s pending retirement “ I had some great discussions with him. He has some things to think about with his family. He has a few days of consideration, but he is a wonderful member of our organization.”
