ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Aerial Powers declared for the WNBA draft after her redshirt junior year and was eligible as she was 22 years of age. Powers was a First three-time All-Big Ten First Team honoree in Michigan State University history, excelling in just three seasons of action and was as an All-America Third Team and one of 15 finalists for Wooden Award as national player of the year in her junior season.
Selected by the Dallas Wings as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft she made the WNBA All-Rookie Team in the same year. After being out with a hip injury since the end of the 2016 season, Powers played in 12 of 34 games with one start averaging 10.8 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game with 20.3 minutes played per game.
