FRISCO, Texas – At Cowboy veteran/rookie OTA’s this past week at the Star in Frisco, veteran wide receiver Tavon Austin commented on his position regarding NFL’s new policy concerning the national anthem “I can’t think for another man. I respect the guys that go over there and fight for us everyday: Family members that we all got a part of. That’s why I stand. “
After the controversy this past season surrounding the national anthem protests, the NFL has a new rule that mandates players to stand on the field when the anthem is played. If players want to kneel, they have to do so in the privacy of their own locker-room. Austin has made it clear what his actions will be once the 2018 season begins. In honor of Memorial Day, Austin’s message is what the day is all about and reminds the nation what standing for the flag represents. Home of the free, because of the brave. Thank you to our military and their families for your sacrifice.
