Connor Williams Giving a Positive Impression at Camp Just Like “Dallas Day”

OXNARD, Calif. – At Day two of Dallas Cowboy’s practice at Training Camp in Oxnard, California, head coach Jason Garrett discussed the impact of left guard Connor Williams in pass protection, by relaying a story to D210 on the Cowboys first impression of the talented individual “ Connor is learning the game and all the aspects of it. There are a lot of things we like about him…we bring local guys in for Dallas Day: Guys who went to college in the metroplex. You are allowed to do that in the NFL. Typically if you are a highly regarded guy, first, second, or third round pick, typically if you do come over to see the team it is for a handshake and not for a meeting. Connor came over and was as good of a workout as we have ever seen on Dallas Day. Hustling like you have never seen and hustling in an environment like that. He was someone we really liked before that but he really made a very favorable impression on us that day, and really is what he is all about and what we have seen from him so far.”

A former offensive guard from the University of Texas had the opportunity to stay in Texas and play for his dream team: the Dallas Cowboys. He has the chance to be a starting left guard for “America’s Team,” this season and he is on the right track. He has impressed the Cowboys coaching staff since the beginning at “Dallas Day”, and he has not disappointed. He will bring added dimension to the left side of the o-line to protect Dak’s blind side and depth in the event of injury occurring. Williams is continuing to look promising as he works in reps with veterans Travis Frederick, Tyron Smith, and Zack Martin at Training Camp!
