OXNARD, Calif. – Defensive end Randy Gregory had his first walk through with his teammates and can practice with the team from now on moving forward at training camp. Gregory was placed on the non-football injury list at the beginning of camp and has not participated in any drills thus far on the field. He was reinstated in July from a yearlong suspension.
This is the first time Gregory has practiced with his team in over a year and head coach, Jason Garrett, does not want to rush things. Garrett stated “he is making progress,” and that they are going to put him in the defensive game plan and see how he does adjusting. He will now join Dorance Armstrong, Kony Ealy, Taco Charlton, and Charles Tapper in the hunt for the starting defensive end position opposite the line from DeMarcus Lawrence.
Gregory will have a lot to prove to the coaching staff in a short amount of time. He has missed valuable weeks training with his teammates and making an impression on the field. Now he will have another chance to show his maturity off the field and presence on it.
