Communication Is The Key For Cowboys Against Redskins

FRISCO, Texas — A win for the Cowboys this Sunday against NFC East division rival Washington Redskins would ensure at least a tie for first place. To accomplish this Dallas will have to do something they haven’t been able to pull off all season, a win on the road.

Coach Jason Garrett stressed during Thursday’s press conference that communication is going to be key in securing the first season victory outside of AT&T Stadium. This sentiment was echoed by quarterback Dak Prescott when he shared the importance of the meeting he had that day about communication strategies.

Offensively Dallas’ biggest weapons going into Sunday’s contest are Running Back Ezekiel Elliott and Quarterback Dak Prescott.
Elliott leads the NFL in rushing and historically does well against Washington, averaging 110 rushing yards in the three career games he’s played against the team.

This acts as a nice compliment to Dak Prescott who undoubtedly played the best game he’s had in the last couple of years, securing a blowout win against the Jacksonville Jaguars 40-7 in week 6. Prescott’s 82 yards rushing in the game is a feat not seen by a Cowboys quarterback since Roger Staubach in 1971.

Looking to the Redskins matchup, Prescott expressed a need for the team to capitalize on the momentum they’re currently experiencing. He pointed out that the approach of the offense is shifting from former “go-tos” to a greater emphasis on using the run game and his feet now. Prescott appears to be on the right track as he gets back to basics and the skills that serve him best.
