FORT WORTH, Texas — It was a rematch of last years Big 12 Championship game when TCU hosted OU on Saturday afternoon in Amon G. Carter Stadium. The Sooners had a meltdown in the second quarter making it a close four-point game, but responded in the second half and eventually pulled away, defeating the Horned Frogs 52-27.
Both teams were trying to rebound after coming off losses, as TCU fell to Texas Tech last week and OU lost to Texas in the Red River Showdown two weeks ago.
After falling behind by 21 points early, the Horned Frogs decided to switch quarterbacks, giving Penn transfer Michael Collins the nod. Collins ignited a spark offensively for TCU, as he was responsible for 20 of their 27 points in the contest today. He went 7 for 17 for 142 yards and two touchdowns. But for the Sooners, Kyler Murray had an even more dominant performance, completing 19 of his 24 passes for 213 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 51 yards on the ground.
Kennedy Brooks led the Sooners in rushing with a career-high 168 yards on just 18 carries. TCU will play in Lawrence next week against Kansas while OU will host Kansas State.
