DALLAS, Texas — SMU had a season-high against FBS opponents for scoring 45 points, 514 yards total offense, 196 rushing yards and 25 first downs as they beat the University of Houston 45-31.
Mustangs Quarterback Ben Hicks had 318 passing yards and a career-high tying 4 TD passes, his sixth career game of 4 TD passes, and he set an SMU record with his 10th career 300-yard passing game.
This is SMU’s fourth game against a ranked team this season and it’s first win over a ranked team since defeating Houston 38-16 on October 22, 2016.
SMU’s Kyran Mitchell, Richard Moore, Turner Coxe combined for 4 sacks against the Cougars offense.
