OU Big 12 Champs In Win Over Longhorns

ARLINGTON, Texas — It’s a 4-Peat!! The Oklahoma Sooners defeated Texas 39-27 in Arlington, TX at AT&T Stadium for their 4thconsecutive Big 12 Championship. Fifth-ranked OU was looking for revenge as the Longhorns gave them their only loss of the season on October 6 in a 48-45 win.

Texas started the game strong and took the lead early, but quarterback Kyler Murray threw two touchdowns in the last two drives up the half to go up 20-14 and never trailed again. Murray had a Heisman Trophy-worthy performance, completing 25 of 34 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns. For Texas, their quarterback sophomore Sam Ehlinger was 23 of 36 for 349 yards including two touchdown passes and two rushing ones, but through an interception in the final minute of the game.

There were 83,114 people in attendance at the game today, being the highest attended conference championship game ever. Murray and the Sooners put on a show in front of them all, hoping they did enough to get a berth into the College Football Playoffs.

Both Oklahoma and Texas do not have to wait too long to see what the CPF committee decides, as the bowl placing’s will be announce Sunday.
