Dallas Cowboys’ Rookies Give Back

FRISCO, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys Rookie Club took a break from preparation for the Philadelphia Eagles today at the Star to load Salvation Army Trucks in the rain with hundreds of personalized Christmas gifts purchased by the club’s players, coaches, staff, and tenants from the Star, and Essilor Vision Foundation, as a part of the Angel Tree program.

Each year the Cowboys adopt angels representing the needs and wishes of underprivileged children and adults in the surrounding community as part of the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. This year the Cowboys, the Star leaseholders, and Essilor combined adopted more than 500 angels through the outreach.

Today marked the 18th year the rookie class participated in the outreach initiative, designed to introduce the new players in Dallas to the importance of giving back to the community of North Texas. The rookie’s selfless act this holiday season will warm the hearts of disadvantaged people in the local community when their hands touch a thoughtful gift from a member of the Dallas Cowboys’ organization. There are bigger things in life than football and today was a perfect representation.
