FRISCO, Texas- The 8th annual Reliant Home Run Derby with the Dallas Cowboys took place on Wednesday at the Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. More than 9,400 fans filled seats in the crowd, the most in the competition’s history, to witness some of America Team’s most famed players step into the batter box and take a swing to raise money for the Salvation Army and charities in the DFW metroplex.
Since 2012, the annual Home Run Derby has raised over $330,000 for the Salvation Army and local charities. The crowd electrified the Cowboys tonight who responded by powerful swings that topped the goal for the evening, by raising a total of $58,000.
Quarterback, Dak Prescott, was named the 2019 Home Run Derby champion amassing five home runs amounting $9,300. To top off the amount raised at the event, Reliant donated $1,000 to each of the Cowboys’ that participated individual charity of choice. The batters who participated:

The evening highlighted both the Cowboy (Rowdy) and Salvation Army (Captain Kettle) mascots, the National Anthem played by the Cowboys’ Rhythm and Blues Drumline, appearances by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and Dallas’ rookies shagged balls in the outfield. The Dallas Cowboys used their athletic ability to make a difference in the community!
