OXNARD, California — The Dallas Cowboys are preparing for their first preseason game on Saturday against the San Francisco 49ers. Newcomers will experience their first live action game in the NFL and will have the opportunity to shine on the gridiron with reps.
Many players emerged during training camp with their performances on the field, but one spot to specifically watch during the game is new offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore. He will assume the full responsibility calling plays in 2019 for Dallas and no one has a playbook on the young innovative coach yet. No one knows Moore’s tendencies or how he will utilize the offensive weapons. He is walking on the field unscripted and that gives the Cowboys an edge on their opponents.
The Cowboys have a young and talented team with more depth than the team has arguably had in franchise history. Saturday will put the team one step closer to forming the club’s foundation and final 53-man roster.
