FC Dallas Dominates Houston

FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas played off their strengths with a major win against Houston Dynamo. The game started off with urgency and a push from initation. Starting from 1 to 20, the game stayed flat, until a foul was issued to Midfielder, Brandon Servania. With a foul set in place a free kick by Defender, Reto Ziegler put the pressure on to Houston. Marking the time with 4 minutes later, Forward, Jesus Ferreira’s impact on this match was made clear when he scored a right footed shot from centre of the box.

This game was quickly changing from the 2018 FCD v HOU matches were the teams had tied. Earlier this year we saw a win and loss from FCD, and with the challenges the team faced the pressure was set. As Head Coach Lucci Gonzalez stated “the pressure is an opportunity to show their best…the more pressure the more they want to respond”.

The second quarter was in full mode, with 5 minutes into the game the Czech Forward, Kobra , scored 2 goals. Kobra, coming from a successful Polish football club joined FCD in late 2018. As Head Coach, Gonzalez states ” Kobra was not getting the opportunities in the begining…still he has earned and taken advantage . It’s a great night for him”.

The culmulating moment of 5 minutes left into the game, Ferreira shoots and scores right his second goal, before a VAR is called and the shot is retracted. Regardless, Defender,  Moises Hernández shoots his shot and ends the night with a score finale of 5-1.

It has been a week of growth and opportunity for FCD coming from a tie against Montreal. The battle is still not over as they prepare to take on FC Cincinnati this coming Saturday 8/31.
