Cowboys vs. Redskins Week 2 Preview

FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys hit the road to face another division rival in week two- the Washington Redskins on Sunday September 15th.
Dallas totaled 494 yards of offense and threw for 405 yards against the Giants in week one. The biggest key for the Cowboys will be playing with that same rhythm, tempo, and diversity on offense under the leadership of young innovator, Kellen Moore.

The redskins have a solid front seven with five-first-rounders among the mix and Moore will need another stellar performance calling plays at FedEx Field.

I spoke with Dak Prescott on the Redskins’ defensive front and he responded, “ This team was built on the starting offensive line we have, so regardless of what they have done. I think you see around this division that is what they’ve done; to match the guys we have, so for us it is about communicating and going in there and being on the same page and knowing exactly what we want to do. When we work together, it’s tough to stop or annoy that five we have. “

Defensive end Jonathan Allen and nose tackle Daron Payne consistently clog holes at the line of scrimmage and outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan brings pass pressure. Kerrigan led the Redskins’ defense with 13 sacks in 2018 and has never missed a NFL game throughout his career, playing 129 straight.

“ I remember him getting drafted right out of Purdue and thinking a lot of him coming out of school, “ Jason Garrett remarked to me on Kerrigan. “ Our evaluation was that he is a relentless player; he has demonstrated that over the course of his career…. he is strong, quick, and explosive. He has a good rush repertoire.”
Being consistent on offense, moving the chains, and clear communication is key against the Redskins’ talented front seven.
