FRISCO, Texas — Dak Prescott will play on Sunday vs. Eagles as expected. No.4 was not listed as questionable on the final injury report. He was limited throughout the week and Prescott was re-evaluated on Friday following practice and coaches/trainers saw enough from him to make the ‘go ahead’ determination. During the media portion of practice, Dak threw some light-throws with little velocity and nothing over 10 yards.
He banged up the shoulder early in the game against the rams in week 15 on a 7-yard run where Clay Matthews landed on Dak. The quarterback has made it clear all week that he would play come Sunday in the battle for the NFC East division title and remarked on Thursday that he will not wear any extra protection or padding on his right shoulder because he does not want it to effect his throwing motion.
With Dak’s injury, Schwartz will likely opt to stack the box with added players at the line of scrimmage and incorporate more blitz packages to pressure Dak all day long. The Eagles’ defensive front does not blitz a lot, players tend to sit and hold the line of scrimmage to clog holes, which is why their run defense is generally ranked as one of the top in the league. However, Schwartz will change up the game plan to force Dak to throw the football.
Dallas’ offensive line will be a key component in the ballgame. The unit had a stellar performance against the Rams with two-100 yard rushers and they did not allow a sack on Prescott. The offensive line continued to control the line of scrimmage and they need to have another equally successful performance against the Eagles with the pressure they will dial up.
