SMU Looks To Get The “W” Tonight Against UCONN

DALLAS, TEXAS — SMU Men’s Basketball looks to regain momentum, as they host the University of Connecticut at 6 pm CT tonight. The Mustangs go into tonight’s match up (6-4) in American Athletic Conference play.

SMU fell at Temple (97-90) in overtime this past Saturday after holding a 17-point lead at halftime. The Mustangs split their 2 regular season games with Temple, both teams winning at home.

The Mustangs lead the AAC in offensive production, averaging an impressive 75 points per game. Point guard, Kendric Davis continued to lead that charge over the weekend with 23 points and 10 assists. He’s earned AAC Weekly Honor Roll several times and leads the conference in assists.

UConn comes to Dallas (13-10) overall, but under .500 in conference play. The Huskies have been playing well recently though, winning 3 of their last 4 outings. They also started the week well, with an overtime win over Cincinnati on Sunday. This will be the first and only regular season match up between SMU and UConn, but they could play again in the conference tournament.

Overall, the Mustangs are (16-6), with all of their goals in front of them. Tim Jankovich and his team have won 12 home games this year, dropping only 1 game in Moody Coliseum. The Mustangs only home loss was to Georgetown, back in December of 2019. Since then, they have won the last 6 straight in Dallas, averaging over 80 points in those games.
