FRISCO, Texas- The Dallas Cowboys have been busy making moves in free agency on Wednesday. The Cowboys re-signed cornerback Anthony Brown to a three-year deal and kicker Kai Forbath to a one-year deal.
Forbath played three games in 2019 for Dallas when Brett Maher was released. He was 10-for-10 on field goal attempts for the Cowboys and has a field goal percentage of 86.8% since 2012. Now, he will have a full season as the club’s kicker.
Brown missed the majority of the 2019 season for the Cowboys after undergoing season-ending triceps surgery in November. The nickel corner was placed on injured reserve after totaling 17 combined tackles and five passes defended in nine games last season. Throughout his four-year career in Dallas, Brown has been a constant presence in the secondary racking up 172 combined tackles, three sacks, four interceptions, and 32 passes defended.
The Cowboys now have four cornerbacks under contract with Brown, recently signed Maurice Canady, along with incumbents Jourdan Lewis and Chidobe Awuzie. For additional help at the position, Dallas will likely explore more options in free agency or the draft.
