Cowboys Re-Sign Veteran LB’s Joe Thomas and Justin March-Lillard

FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys added more depth at the linebacker position on Thursday re-signing veterans Justin March-Lillard and Joe Thomas. Both are primary backups at LB and contributors to the Cowboys’ special teams unit.

Thomas spent three years with the Green Bay Packers playing for Mike McCarthy before joining the Cowboys in 2018. Throughout his five-year pro career, the veteran has amassed 157 combined tackles, eight passes defended, and an interception in 67 games played. Last season, he ranked 11th on Dallas’ defense with 36 tackles in 15 games.

March-Lillard had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, and Seattle Seahawks before coming to Dallas in 2017. During his six-year career in the league, he has totaled 41 combined tackles and three passes defended. In 2019, March-Lillard ranked third on the squad with seven special teams tackles.

Thomas and March-Lillard join Leighton Vander Esch, Jaylon Smith, and Sean Lee in the Cowboys’ LB group.
