FRISCO, TEXAS — After selecting cornerback Trevon Diggs in the second round, the Dallas Cowboys added additional depth to the backfield in the fourth round with Reggie Robinson II at pick 123.
At Tulsa, Robinson lined up as the left cornerback and his playmaking ability skyrocketed in his senior year. In 2019, he recorded 17 passes defended and four interceptions. The 6-0, 205 lb. corner does an outstanding job reading quarterbacks and is consistently looking to make plays on the ball. Robinson has solid instincts in coverage and is also a physical run defender.
Following his selection, Reggie described his style of play to local Dallas media. “I’m a physical, in your face corner. A press corner.”
He will now compete for a roster spot with the Cowboys. He will join Trevon Diggs, Chidobe Awuzie, Anthony Brown, Jourdan Lewis, Maurice Canady, Saivion Smith, and CJ Goodwin in Dallas’ cornerback group. Dallas lost their No.1 corner, Byron Jones, to the Dolphins in free agency and the vacant spot is up for grabs.
