FRISCO, TEXAS — The Dallas Cowboys signed former Chiefs’ left tackle Cameron Erving on Wednesday to a one-year deal per Dallas Morning News.
The Chiefs did not pick up Erving’s 2020 option on his contract and Dallas signed him as a free agent to add depth to their offensive line. The Cowboys did not renew Cameron Fleming’s option for 2020 and lost the FA offensive tackle backup to rival New York Giants.
Erving, a first round (pick 19) selection by the Cleveland Browns in the 2015 NFL Draft, was traded to the Chiefs in 2017. He has started 42 of 69 career games. The 27-year old started eight games for Kansas City last season at left tackle but spent time at both guard and tackle during his time with the Chiefs (2017-2019).
Dallas has Joe Looney and Connor McGovern as interior backup offensive lineman and they added another piece to join the O-line group.
