ARLINGTON, TEXAS — A lot of moves happened yesterday around the WNBA, as teams had to make cuts to their rosters to get down to 12 players. For the Dallas Wings, they had to make two moves before yesterday’s deadline. They traded center Kristine Anigwe and a 2021 third-round pick to the Los Angeles Sparks for a 2021 second-round pick. The Wings also waived guard Karlie Samuelson.
Dallas decided to keep all three of their first-round picks from this year’s draft: No. 2 Satou Sabally (Oregon), No. 5 Bella Alarie (Princeton) and No. 7 Tyasha Harris (South Carolina). Those rookies combined with 2nd year guard Arike Ogunbowale should be exciting to watch.
Here is the Wings final roster:
- Bella Alarie
- Allisha Gray
- Megan Gustafson
- Tyasha Harris
- Isabella Harrison
- Moriah Jefferson
- Marina Mabrey
- Astou Ndour
- Arike Ogunbowale
- Satou Sabally
- Katie Lou Samuelson
- Kayla Thornton

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that pro sports in Texas can resume, without fans in attendance, on May 31. Dallas Wing’s President and CEO Greg Bibb described the announcement as exciting and promising. Bibb also said he is happy that Texas is getting to a point where people can feel comfortable taking steps in the direction of sports returning.
The season was supposed to start on May 15, but has been delayed indefinitely. There has been no decisions made by the WNBA on when the season will start or how it will look.
