FRISCO, TEXAS — Rookie center Tyler Biadasz did not start the game against the Browns on Sunday but may as well have. Joe Looney went down on the first snap of the game and once again, the offensive line underwent another shuffle due to injury.
Owner/general manager, Jerry Jones conformed to 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday that Looney will miss 2-3 weeks with a sprained MCL.
“ Joe will be missed. He is truly one of the leaders of this football team and he will be missed out there, but he will be the first to tell you that this guy, Biadasz, his backup, should be able to rise- I emphasize rise- to the occasion.”
Biadasz has played 133 snaps for Dallas over the past two weeks in for Looney and has held his own at the line of scrimmage. Looney suffered an ankle injury against the Seahawks in week three and Biadasz stepped in.
Left tackle Tyron Smith returned to the lineup against the Browns after he missed the previous two weeks with a neck injury. The club has been without right tackle La’el Collins throughout the 2020 season and he will likely undergo season-ending hip surgery on Wednesday. He was limited throughout training camp and was placed on injured reserve at the outset of the season.
“ Right at this particular time there is a plan for him to have surgery but I don’t have the details on that, “ Jones stated.
At right tackle, undrafted rookie Terence Steele started against the Browns and was on an island against the team’s best pass rusher, Myles Garrett. After a strip/sack on Dak Prescott, the Cowboys replaced Steele with Brandon Knight.
