FRISCO, TEXAS — On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys made some changes to the roster. The club released 12-year veteran cornerback Brandon Carr and offensive tackle Alex Light.
In addition, the Cowboys signed offensive tackle Greg Senat to the active roster off the Browns’ practice squad and signed offensive tackle William Sweet to the practice squad.
Carr was signed to the team’s practice squad after the final cut down to 53 was made. He was later promoted to the active roster but played few snaps despite Dallas’ injuries in the secondary with both Chidobe Awuzie and Anthony Brown on injured reserve.
The Cowboys have two roster spots open on the 53, currently sitting at 51. Players are required to remain on injured reserve for a minimum of three weeks before being eligible to return. Right now for Dallas, several are eligible to come off of IR: Leighton Vander Esch (collarbone), Anthony Brown (ribs), Cam Erving (knee), and Ventell Bryant (knee). The team is hopeful that Brown will be able to come back to the gridiron soon.
