FORT WORTH, TX — Freshman guard, Mike Miles was named Big 12 newcomer of the week on Monday. In the first week of play as a TCU Horned Frog, Miles averaged 10.3 points, 3.3rebounds, and 2.7 assists.
Miles has helped the Horned Frogs to a 3-0 start to the season including winning the Hall of Fame Classic this past weekend. He helps the TCU offense with his ability to shoot. He shot 48percent from the floor in the championship win over Liberty on Sunday afternoon.
Miles came out hot in the season opener against Houston Baptist scoring 13 points. It was the most points a freshman has scored in his first game as a Horned Frog since 2016. He came outperfect, shooting 4 for 4 and had 8 points almost immediately in the first half.Miles followed that up scoring 12 points against Tulsa.
Miles broke yet another record as thefirst freshman to score double-digits in back-to-back games in the start of a season since 2016.Miles and company will take on Northwestern State on Thursday at 7 p.m.
