DALLAS, Texas — SMU beat Texas A&M Corpus Christi 91-54 on Monday night, moving to 2-0 on the season. The Islanders fall to 1-2.
The Mustangs started Kendric Davis, Isiah Jasey, Ethan Chargois, Feron Hunt and Emmanuel Bandoumel. Chargois won the toss, leading to a Bandoumel 3-pointer that put SMU up right away.
The Mustangs went on to establish a 10-point lead by midway through the first half. The Mustangs eventually got the Islanders in foul trouble, while playing great defense, opening their lead to 25 points by the break.
SMU ended the game with 5 double digit performers in their big offensive outing. Hunt lead SMU offensively, scoring 19-points, followed by Bandoumel with 17, Chargois with 12, and Davis and Charles Smith IV with 11.
The Mustangs are now 40-4 in home regular season non-conference games under Head Coach, Tim Jankovich. They host Houston Baptist, their 3rd straight Southland Conference opponent, as they continue non-conference play on Wednesday night.
