FORT WORTH, TX — TCU (4-0) wins their fourth straight game against Northwestern State (0-4) 74-68 on Thursday night.
It was not a pretty win for TCU, it was a much closer game than it should’ve been. It was a back and forth battle most of the first half. TCU was playing lackadaisical on defense and was not converting offensively. The Horned Frogs shot 25 percent from the free throw line before heading into the half up by six.
Northwestern State entered the second half going on a 9-2 run to take the lead 43-42. Nembhard’s jump shot stopped the run and TCU took the lead for the rest of the game. Trenton Massner kept Northwestern State in this game. He had 21 points for the night. Kendal Coleman contributed 15 points.
TCU went on a 15-3 run with 3 minutes left in the game. The Horned Frogs took their largest lead and went up 70-56 on the Demons leading them to a victory.
TCU had four players in double-digits tonight. RJ Nembhard led the Horned Frogs with 23 points and 15 rebounds. PJ Fuller had 13 points and was 5-of-7 on the night, Kevin Samuel had 12 points and 15 rebounds, and Jaedon LeDee had 11 points.
TCU shot 46.9 percent from the floor and 50 percent from the free throw line.
