ARLINGTON, Texas — “Success isn’t always about greatness it’s about consistency, consistent hard work leads to success “. Dwayne Johnson
This past week the Rangers have been consistent in acquiring younger talent, filling positions, and adding coaches.
Texas Rangers recently signed 25-year-old, right-hander, Joe Gatto to a one year contract . Gatto was the 53rd overall pick in the 2014 amateur draft. Gatto will earn the minimum of $570,500 if placed in the Major League ,or $93,000 if placed in the Minor League.
Rangers also resigned outfielder Scott Heineman, who had an average of .154, tagged along with one home-run, and seven RBI.
The consistency the Rangers have had in these past eight days has been very interesting. The Rangers have also hired former MLB pitcher Chris Young, as a general manager. Young was apart of the Texas Rangers for his first two seasons. He also worked with the Rangers on the construction of their new Globe Life Field.
As rumors about the fate of Lance Lynn continually circulated, he has now announced his new home. Lynn is now apart of the White Sox, while in return the Rangers received Dane Dunning and pitching prospect Avery Weems.
To say who won the trade is unsure, as the Rangers are in rebuilding mode and the White Soxs are after a World Series.
Lynn was the most targeted pitcher this offseason with stats of 89 strikeouts, 25 walks, and holding batters to a .204 average it’s very understanding.
The Rangers will continue to rebuild and acquire different athletes, and as we see they have been very consistent in their pursuit. Rangers have now acquired the first baseman Nate Lowe through trade and minor league first baseman,Jake Guenther who was phenomenal at the rookie-level Appalachian League, finishing with 30 RBIs and a .320 average.
Lowe comes from a winning program, so that winning tradition will be apart of him. Lowe is only 25, yet stood out offensively with four home runs, 11 RBIs, and a .224 average which can be very helpful to the Rangers.
If the Rangers stay consistent, the rebuilding process won’t be as bad or as long as it seems. Rangers fans buckle up and enjoy this roller coaster ride.
