FRISCO, Texas — The Cowboys released a pool practice report on Wednesday compiled by the dallascowboys.com staff writers.
The team practiced in shells inside Ford Center at the Star on Wednesday in preparation for the 49ers in week 15.
During the open portion of practice, running back Ezekiel Elliott (calf) and Rashard Robinson (knee) did resistance training with the athletic training staff.
Elliott described to media that he worked with trainer Britt Brown on bands aiming to improve “range of motion” and work out stiffness and inflammation in his calf, that is more of a contusion (large bruise) than a strain.
Of the cornerback group, Chidobe Awuzie (activated from Reserve/COVID-19 list), Trevon Diggs (IR-Designated to Return), Anthony Brown (ribs), and Saivion Smith (hand) were all practicing. Smith had a wrap on his right hand and Robinson had a wrap on his right knee. Deante Burton was not on the field practicing.
Saivion Smith and Rashard Robinson replaced outside corners Chidobe Awuzie and Trevon Diggs against the Bengals in week 14. Both exited the game due to injuries but later returned. While out, Deante Burton and Chris Westry stepped in.
Diggs, the Cowboys’ second-round draft pick, has not played since week nine vs. the Steelers after fracturing his foot in the 24-19 loss. He is now eligible to begin the 21-day practice window on IR and can be activated at any point.
This week, the Cowboys got some positive news for a change with several key starters in the backfield able to return to practice on Wednesday.
