FRISCO, Texas — The 4-9-1 Philadelphia Eagles come to town to take on the rival 5-9 Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The game will decide the fate of both NFC East teams.
Several Cowboy places were listed as out on Saturday’s injury report ahead of week 16’s meeting: linebacker Leighton Vander Esch (ankle), nose tackle Antwaun Woods (ankle), safety Xavier Woods (ribs), and cornerback Rashard Robinson (knee). All four did not practice throughout the week and were projected to be non-participants in Sunday’s matchup.
Both tight end Blake Bell (illness) and Ezekiel Elliott (calf) are listed as questionable. Elliott has been a limited participant in practice all week after being sidelined for week 15’s face off against the 49ers. During pregame warmups, Elliott described to media that he felt a tug from the calf contusion while working with trainers on resistance bands and could not play vs. San Francisco. Noted he feels “way better” than he did this time last week, but time will tell. Tony Pollard had a productive performance last week replacing Zeke, including a 40-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Pollard showed explosiveness that the team’s run game has lacked and the staff could opt to continue with Pollard while Elliott continues to heal.
