ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Right-handed Art Warren, who was claimed off waivers from Seattle back in October by the Rangers is now being sent to the Cincinnati Reds for 100,000 dollars.
Warren whose a native of Ohio had no problem with the deal, moments after he found out, Warren tweeted “ I’m coming home”.
What the Rangers will do with those funds, it’s unquestionable at the moment. The Rangers have plenty of spots to fill, this off-season has been nothing short of interesting. Rangers have needs that should be handled as soon as possible though. The offensive firepower isn’t there at all, after hitting 27 home runs in only 30 games should be an eye-opener. To add that firepower the Rangers could fill the three spots of a designated hitter, first baseman, and left fielder.
The Rangers are still looking to rebuild with advanced athletes and/or younger athletes who recently took the GM by shock this past season.
What the Rangers could do is spend the money wisely to acquire veterans to fill positions until those younger athletes can adapt, adjust, and contribute to building a winning organization.
After finishing American League Worst 22-38 everything the Rangers continue to do this off-season will be committed to an impact of rebuilding with a core of young players.
