FORT WORTH, TX – TCU (9-7) is returning home this Wednesday to Schollmaier Arena after a three game road trip. The Horned Frogs will face off Oklahoma State (11-4) for the second time this season.
TCU beat Oklahoma State earlier this year 77-76 after coming back from an eight-point deficant with 2.5 minutes left in the game. The three stars on this TCU team; RJ Nembhard, Mike Miles, and Kevin Samuel all scored in the double-figures that night. The Horned Frogs shot 54 percent from the floor and 47 percent from the three-point line, one of their highest scoring shooting games this season.
TCU gave up 20 turnovers in their last matchup with Oklahoma State. Turnovers have continued to be an ongoing issue for this TCU offense and they will need to have more control of the ball if they want to beat the Cowboys for the second time.
The Horned Frogs lost in overtime earlier this week to No. 12 Missouri. TCU shot the lights out of the gym and had great composure on offense. They shot 60 percent from the floor most of the game and could not miss from beyond the arc. The game went into overtime and the Tigers ended up coming out on top due to stellar performances from Xavier Pinson and Jeremiah Tilmon.
Oklahoma State won their last matchup against Arkansas thanks to a game winning shot from the Freshman phenom Cade Cunningham. Cunningham had 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists on the night.
TCU is looking to snap a five-game losing streak tonight and in order to do so they need to play like they did against Missouri. TCU showed a lot of confidence and poise in their game against the Tigers on both ends of the court. The Horned Frogs offense was shooting great and getting every member of the team involved in their offense. TCU combined for 98 total points, 24 points coming from the bench.
The Horned Frogs defense was steller and they will have to show the same dominance against Oklahoma State, especially with Cunningham. Cunningham has the talent to make a big difference in this game. TCU needs to lock him down and not let him get hot.
If TCU shoots the ball well like they did earlier this week and shuts down Cunningham on the perimeter, TCU will take the victory tonight.
The game is scheduled for tonight at 8:00 p.m.
