Mavericks Snap Their 6-Game At Home Losing Streak; Defeating The Warriors 134-132

DALLAS, TX — The Dallas Mavericks snap their six-game at home losing streak defeating Golden State 134-132.

The first quarter was all Mavericks. They went on a 10-2 run to start off the game. The Mavericks lead continued to grow, creating an 11 point gap midway through the first quarter. The Mavericks defense started to slow down at the end letting the Warriors climb back to a 35-31 score at the end of the first quarter.

The Mavericks continued to dominate in the second quarter. Luka Doncic was shooting lights out, he had 21 points in the half, Kristaps Porzingis added 11 points. They kept the lead all the way through halftime, going into the locker room up 72-62.

The third quarter was where things started to go sideways. The Mavericks defense started to deteriorate giving up their 10 point lead due to Steph Curry’s phenomenal shooting performance from beyond the line, he had 57 points on the night. With that being said, the Mavericks found a way to pull out a five point lead at the end of the third quarter thanks to a stellar shooting performance from Doncic. He ended the night with a double-double and tied his career high 42 points, 7 rebounds, and 11 assists.

The fourth quarter was a shooting showdown between Doncic and Curry. Both sharp shooters were feeding off each other’s energy showing off their skills beyond the arc. Despite Curry’s stellar performance, it was not enough for the Warriors. The difference was the consistent offense the Mavericks had all night by all five starters and players off the bench. Mavericks five starters for the Mavericks scored in double-figures tonight and the bench contributed 31 points. The Mavericks shot 45 percent from the floor and 44 percent from beyond the arc.

This was the Mavericks second game of a seven game home stand. They will return to American Airlines Center this Monday night to take on the Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m.
