LUBBOCK, TX — TCU (12-11) fell short tonight to No. 18 Texas Tech (16-8) 69-49. The Horned Frogs were simply outplayed in tonight’s matchup. TCU shot 38 percent from the floor while Texas Tech shot 51 percent. TCU struggled from the three point line shooting just 23 percent from beyond the arc compared to 46 percent that Texas Tech threw up.

Texas Tech could not miss in the second half but that was not the reason TCU lost tonight. The lack of offense and laxidasical defense is the reason they lost by 20 points.

TCU started the game off looking rattled to say the least. Texas Tech opened with a 14-point lead over the Horned Frogs and TCU did not have answers.

The Horned Frogs went into the locker room down 36-22 shooting 36 percent from the floor and 22 percent from beyond the arc. The Horned Frogs couldn’t find the basket tonight and that was just the beginning of the problems.

Midway through the second half the Red Raiders continued to dominate on offense. They were shooting 52 percent from the floor and went on a 8-0 run giving them Texas Tech the largest lead of the night, 48-29.

Texas Tech could not miss tonight, while there was a lid on the basket for TCU. The Red Raiders got contributions up and down the depth chart. 10 out of 11 players scored in tonight’s game, including 25 points from the bench.

TCU was the complete opposite. The Horned Frogs could not find the basket. RJ Nembhard led the Horned Frogs with 10 points. They shot 38 percent from the floor and had 15 turnovers on the night.

TCU will continue on the road and head to West Virginia to take on the Mountaineers. Tip off is set for 6:00 p.m.
