FC Dallas (Eddie Koton)
FRISCO, TEXAS — FC Dallas had an early morning at practice, working on the chemistry of the team and running drills.
Left winger Kalil ElMedkhar stated to D210SPORTS where he stands with this team. ”I feel great. I came here to be a competitor and fight for my spot as a starter on this team. I have been dialed in with coach Gonzalez teaching me new techniques and how to improve my game. I feel I am progressing everyday, becoming faster and stronger. The goal right now is to be a starter when the start of the season comes and I am hopeful for the future with this team.”
Kalil is a YSC Academy grad and was a popular first round prospect. FC Dallas was able to obtain him in the first round of the 2021 MLS Draft at the number 21 overall pick, and needless to say they were very happy about it.
Kalil also expressed, he feels he’s in the best shape of his life and is preparing for what is to come this upcoming season. Kalil-” I’ve trained all my life for this. To be in the position I’m in, is a true blessing and I’m loving every minute I get out on that field. 2020 showed us not to take the little things for granted, so now that i’m back doing what I love, I go my hardest out there and there’s no other place I’d rather be.”
Kalil’s progress headed into the season and will be on the lookout to see if he gained a spot as one of the 2021 FC Dallas starters.
