ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — All smiles and giggles as the Rangers snap their four-game losing streak. This past week the Rangers faced off against the Rays and currently is leading in the four-game series 2-1 to snap their losing streak. The Rangers dominated in both wins, and there was only one game in which it could have went either way; the Rays took that one.
Rookie Kohei Arihara finally showcased his talent while bringing in a win, as he pitched the first six innings, striking out five and walking none. “It’s a good start, obviously I’m very happy” Arihara stated. In the bottom of the second Nate Lowe homered to left giving the Rangers a 1-0 lead.
The game was at a standstill until the seventh inning, that’s when the Rangers exploded with four scores all in the top of the seventh. David Dahl doubled to right leading Jonah Heim and Kiner-Falefa to run home, moments later Garcia tripled to center, Dahl received his good karma by scoring, with Gallo running in as well.
The rest was history and the Rays wouldn’t score until the bottom of the ninth due to a home run. The Rangers look to complete the series tonight against the Rays.
