DALLAS, Texas — SMU took on North Texas that was a little bit of a nail biter the entire game. The Mustangs defeated the Eagles 35-12 and still remain undefeated.
The Mustangs defense was the key to tonight’s win as they covered two interceptions, forced six punts, and had two turnovers letting SMU score seven points.
Offense gained their fire in the second half as SMU Tanner Mordecai had 312 passing yards and threw four touchdowns. Running back Ulysses Bentley rushed for 141 rushing yards and had two touchdowns.
SMU head coach Sonny Dykes stated, “We just played good defense. We will work on putting more pressure on the quarterbacks and getting more sacks but I think we played well overall.”
SMU will hit the road next week to face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
