DE Bradlee Anae Added to COVID-19 Protocols

FRISCO, Texas – With an already depleted defensive line, the Dallas Cowboys took another hit on Friday. Defensive end Bradlee Anae has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, according to a team spokesperson. He will miss Monday night’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Anae becomes the 12th Cowboy player to be placed on the COVID-19 list since Aug. 21st. The Cowboys were already without DeMarcus Lawrence (foot, Reserve/Injured) and Neville Gallimore (elbow, Reserve/Injured), but the defensive line depth thinned as preparation began for the Eagles.

Both defensive end Dorance Armstrong and defensive tackle Carlos Watkins were ruled out of Monday night’s meeting per Mike McCarthy. Armstrong suffered a high ankle sprain against the Chargers in Week 2 and Watkins sustained a knee injury.

Against the Eagles, rookie linebacker Micah Parsons may once again be called upon to line up as a defensive end. Parsons served as a standup edge rusher against the Chargers and relentlessly pursued Justin Herbert, notching eight pressures, four quarterback hits, a sack, and a tackle for loss. With Jalen Hurts’ ability to extend plays outside of the pocket using his legs, Parsons rare 4.3-level speed will play a key factor in neutralizing Hurts on Monday Night Football.
