Undefeated SMU and TCU Battle For The Iron Skillet

DALLAS, Texas — The 2-0 TCU Horned Frogs will host the 2-0 SMU Mustangs, Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. Last season was the first time the two schools haven’t played since 1988 because of the Coid-19 Pandemic.

Looking at the Frogs, they came out on top in a nerve racking game against the California Golden Bears last week. They barely snuck by with a win 34-32. TCU’s running back Zach Evans rushed for one touchdown and 183 yards on 22 carries. TCU quarterback Max Duggan, who has been playing exceptional so far, completed 62 of his passes for 441 yards and 4 touchdowns.

SMU was able to escape with a win last week as the squad defeated the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 39-37. SMU quarterback Tanner Mordecai became superman for SMU as he passed for 5 touchdowns and 395 yards on 48 attempts in addition to picking up 51 yards on the ground.

Mustangs wide receiver Rashee Rice had quite a fiery comment to say when he spoke with media this past Tuesday about taking on the Horned Frogs. Rice, “No one comes to Texas for Fort Worth. They come for Dallas.”
The Horned Frogs are favored to win by 9 points in the latest TCU vs. SMU odds from Caesars Sportsbook, there have been plenty of upsets and surprises already happening as we enter the fourth week of the 2021 college football season, who knows what will happen Saturday.
