Kendre Miller and Zach Evans Combine for Five Touchdowns to Lead TCU to a 52-31 Victory Over Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, TX – TCU (3-2, 1-1) bounced back after back-to-back losses and beat Texas Tech (4-2, 1-2) on homecoming in Lubbock.

TCU’s rushing offense was the difference maker in this game. Kendre Miller led the Horned Frogs with 184 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the night. Zach Evans was shortly behind him with 143 yards rushing and two touchdowns and didn’t even play the second half due to a minor injury.

TCU’s running offense is phenomenal. Evans got hurt in the first half and Miller took care of business from there after Evans did not return for the second half.

Both Quenton Johnson and JD Spielman did not play in tonight’s matchup due to injury. Freshman Quincy Brown took over for Johnson tonight and wasted no time showing us he’s ready to play college football. He made his first collegiate touchdown in the opening drive of the game putting TCU on the board quick.

TCU went into the locker room 35-10.

TCU’s run offense was great today, but their running defense was another story. The running defense has been an issue this entire season and continued to be an issue in today’s game. TCU has now given up 836 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns for 136 passes for the season.

Today they gave up 394 rushing yards and five touchdowns to the Red Raiders. They need to get this rush defense controlled for the remainder of this season or the Big 12 will use that to their advantage and run the ball all day long on TCU.

Trevius Hodges-Tomlinson was nothing shy of great tonight per usual adding a pick six to his resume this season. The tipped pass turned pick six pushed TCU’s lead 28-7 in the first half.

TCU will head to Oklahoma to play No. 4 Oklahoma next Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
