Dallas Ends Their Preseason Schedule Undefeated Beating The Bucks 114-103

MILWAUKEE, WI – The Dallas Mavericks (4-0) defeated the Milwaukee Bucks (1-4) 114-103 in tonight’s matchup putting the Mavericks undefeated at 4-0 for the preseason schedule.

The Mavericks beat last year’s defending champions and they did so without Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Reggie Bullock.

The Bucks did play some of their starters including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jru Holiday and Brook Lopez.

The Mavericks backups balled out in tonight’s game and played as a team to successfully take down the Bucks. 15 players got on the board tonight for the Mavs and four of them scored in double figures. Jalen Brunson led with 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Trey Burke was shortly behind finishing the night with 14 points, five rebounds, and three rebounds.

The name of the game tonight was teamwork. Dallas had 30 assists tonight and currently average 30 assists per game. Head coach Jason Kidd really emphasized teamwork in this new Mavs offense and it seems to be very effective. They share the ball extremely well with one another and it is a big reason they are ending the preseason undefeated at 4-0. Eight Mavericks players had two or more assists and four players had four or more.

Due to effective ball movement the Mavs shooting percentage has gone up as well. They shot 46 percent from the floor and 36 percent from the three.

The Mavericks have been taking fewer three’s than in the past under coach Carlisle. Coach Kidd has stated that they will be shooting less three-point attempts due to more movement of offense. That has been proven, the Mavericks are averaging 47 points in the paint and had 54 points in the paint tonight.

Dallas’s regular season will start Thursday, October 21. The Mavericks will head to Atlanta to play the Hawks at 6:30 p.m.
