Mavericks Rally in Second Half Beating Raptors 103-95

TORONTO – The Dallas Mavericks (1-1) rallied in the second half and came away with a 103-95 win over the Toronto Raptors (1-2) Saturday night in Toronto.

Luka Doncic led the Mavs to a victory tonight with 27 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds. He was one rebound shy of recording his 37th career triple-double.

It was a team effort tonight, all five starters scored in double-figures. Tim Hardaway Jr. had 25 points, 13 of them being in the fourth quarter. Hardaway Jr. heated it up from the three point line tonight, he shot 7-11 from beyond the arc. 

Kristaps Porzingis had 18 points, 10 rebounds, and one assist. Dorian Finney-Smith and Dwight Powell both ended the night with 11 points each. 

The Mavericks started off down 14 points to the Raptors but rallied in the second half to pull away the win. Dallas beat the raptors in the third and fourth quarters after going into the locker room down 51-45 at halftime. 

Doncic scored 12 points in the third quarter putting the Mavs up 74-72 going into the fourth quarter. 

Dallas capitalized on Raptors mistakes, scoring 15 unanswered points on Raptors turnovers. 

The Mavericks struggled with shooting against the Hawks shooting 32 percent on the night and they didn’t do much better against the Raptors, missing nine of their first 10 attempts of the night. They also went 0-8 on three-point attempts in the first quarter. Dallas finished shooting 41 percent on the night and 33 percent from beyond the arc.

Dallas will open their home schedule against Houston on Tuesday night. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
