Week 8 : TCU vs West Virginia Preview

FORT WORTH, TX – TCU (3-3, 1-2) is heading home to Amon G. Carter Stadium after two road games to face West Virginia (2-4, 0-3).

Both teams are coming into week 8 with losses the previous Saturday. TCU lost to No. 4 Oklahoma last Saturday in Norman, 52-31. West Virginia lost to Baylor 45-20.

TCU put up a fight against Oklahoma but their defense could not hold off the Sooners. The nine penalties on offense didn’t help the Frogs either, making the Horned Frogs come up short.

Max Duggan had a great game in Norman. He converted on 20 of 30 passes for 346 yards, and four touchdowns. He averaged 11.5 yards per pass and threw no interceptions on the night.

TCU had a great day of offense against the Sooners putting up 529 total yards.

The Horned Frogs got burned on the pass defense, giving up 78 percent completion rate to the Sooners.

West Virginia offense has struggled this season which is why they are currently 0-3 in the Big 12 Conference. The Mountaineers haven’t recorded 100 yards or more in rushing offense in four of their last six games.

Leddie Brown, West Virginia’s running back, has done well against teams that allow it. He has recorded as many as 161 rushing yards and a touchdown in a game that ended up in an upset against No. 15 Virginia Tech on September 18.

TCU has given up a lot of yards already this year to teams and currently give up an average of 210 rushing yards per game. The Horned Frogs can’t give up yards to the Mountaineers this weekend. If West Virginia uses TCU’s defense against them they could get ahead early.

Kickoff will be at 6:30 P.M. in Fort Worth.
