DALLAS, Texas — SMU Men’s Basketball beat Southeastern Louisiana 78-61 Thursday evening. The Mustangs are undefeated at home so far this season and 3-1 overall. SMU’s only loss came at nationally ranked Oregon. Southeastern Louisiana falls to 2-2 overall.
The Mustangs scored 13 points before the Lions got on the board. The Mustangs were moving the ball well, playing good defense and dominating the transition game early on. The Lions showed a lot of fight in the second half, but weren’t ever able to cut the lead down to single digits.
SMU lead the American in preseason honors, several of those going to point-guard Kendric Davis. Tonight, Davis led the Mustangs with 25 points. Marcus Weathers also had a big night, with 15 points and 12 rebounds, his 2nd straight double-double.
Under Head Coach Tim Jankovich, the Mustangs are now 54-13 in regular-season non-conference games. 44 of those wins came on the Mustangs home court in Moody Coliseum. The Mustangs are on the road this weekend, at the Jacksonville Classic. Their first game of the trip will be Sunday against Missouri.
