TCU (5-1) returns to Fort Dixon to host Oral Roberts (4-3) tonight

FORT WORTH, TX – TCU Men’s Basketball (5-1) will return to Fort Dixon tonight to host the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (4-3).

Coming off of a season with an 18-11 record and a Sweet 16 appearance, Oral Roberts was projected to have another powerful season. Especially, after star guard Max Abmas decided to withdraw from the NBA draft and return to Tulsa for another year.

This season, Abmas averages 22.3 points a game and shoots 44.3% from the floor. The junior from Texas also scored a season-high 38 points to help Oral Roberts defeat Tulsa 97-80 Monday.

While the Golden Eagles seem to have field goal accuracy, something TCU Head Coach Jamie Dixon has wanted to improve in his team this season, the Horned Frogs have a strong defense.

For the second time this season, TCU completed the game with over 50 rebounds against Austin Peay Monday. Not to mention, Eddie Lampkin with a spectacular performance against the Governors, recording his first career double-double for the Frogs.

According to Coach Dixon, he has seen improvement in his team over the last few games but still wants to work on shooting and cutting down on turnovers.

Despite room for improvement, TCU is ready to continue its run at home against the Golden Eagles.

The last time the two teams met was in 2018 when No. 20 TCU took home a 79-62 win. Before that, the teams had not played each other since the 90s.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
