Mavericks Continue Slump, Fall To Nets

DALLAS, Texas — Tuesday nights game between Dallas and Brooklyn went down to the wire, but in the end the Mavericks fell just short to the Nets, losing 102-99.

The Mavs had two opportunities in the final possession of the game to tie it up, but neither Luka Doncic or Tim Hardaway Jr. could hit their shot. The Mavs struggled all night from behind the arc, making just 9 of 46 from three. Doncic led all scorers in the game with 28 points, but was just 3 for 11 from three. Doncic also had 6 rebounds and 9 assists.

For the Nets, Kevin Durant was their leading scorer finishing with with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. James Harden had 23 points, 12 assists and 9 rebounds, just shy of a triple double.

The Nets trailed by as many as 17 points in the 2nd half, but the duo of Durant & Harden helped the Nets climb back in it. Brooklyn didn’t get their first lead of the game until midway through the 4th quarter, but ultimately handed the Mavs their 5th straight home loss.

Dallas continues to struggle as of late, with a 2-8 record in their last 10 games. They now hit the road for a 3-game road trip to Memphis, Indiana and Oklahoma City.
